Househunting!

So, Chris and I have finally settled in out here, and we are really enjoying Florida. Chris was offered a job with T.Rowe Price, which is right next to Legends Field, the Yankees spring training stadium, so you can beat we will be out there this spring.

With his job offer, we decided to apply for a mortgage and start looking at houses. It was really exciting, fun, and tiring.

I was a bit nervous about the qualifying for a mortgage aspect, as while we were at the bank, the mortgage rep asked if AZ weather was like Las Vegas weather. Naturally, Chris perks up at the mention of Las Vegas, and details his many trips there, his excitement over his impending weekend trip to Atlantic City, and his overall love of poker. He proudly declares all of this, while I am sitting there thinking this girl is probably making notes not to give any money to this poker addict. Luckily, they were able to overlook my husband's gambling addiction and offer us a preapproval so we could start looking.

We looked at ten houses this weekend, and we found one that we both really liked in Lakeland. Chris was a bit more excited about it, as my Grand Floridian Guest room decor does not quite match the dark blue carpets that Chris likes to refer to as charcoal. Overall though, I think it was a great house, and anything that makes Chris as excited as he was when he saw it seems worth living in to me.

Meanwhile, Chris is back in Philly visiting his friends and family before he starts work. That means that I have the whole weekend to myself with no plans, so naturally, I am going to head out to Disney World and see what is going on there. I think I am going to hit up Epcot, as it has been a while since I have enjoyed a viewing of the American Adventure. I will probably spend one day there and one day at the Magic Kingdom. Exciting! :-)

Chris comes home next Thursday, and we will probably resume the househunting at that point! Fun stuff! I think we are really going to like life out here!
